Top 10 for 10 years: articles

Friends, we continue to make materials for the decade of our portal. We are not only a charitable foundation and not just a huge media library: we also produce articles, lectures and audio books ourselves. For the jubilee, we decided to introduce you to those of our materials that you especially liked or resonated with. Let's start with the articles: we divided the most popular articles into ten thematic blocks.

The most popular materials on our blog are thematic collections of books, lectures, films, etc. You were especially attracted to the collections on death; science and religion; Christian music, cinema, literature; about the Christian attitude towards Islam and Judaism; how to survive in the church; collections of fiction books about women and theological books about women; collections of audio lectures about literature; Christian essays about Pushkin; a selection of contemporary Christian poetry; selection of films for March 8; adaptations of the gospel; Christian Asian cinema; mastrides from professor Alexei Osipov and hegumen Peter (Mescherinov).

Of course, articles on the most intimate topic were popular: an anonymous story by an Orthodox girl about the fight against masturbation; the story of V. Berkhin about how piety that was misunderstood by a teenager led to a crisis of sexuality; the story of Boris Mirza about how the life of Mary of Egypt would look in modern Russia; an anonymous story about how the incorrect perception of sexuality in the church environment can become a source of problems in family life and relationships with God; reflections of D. Sobur, the father of five children, the youngest of whom died in the womb, that it was time to begin to take care of our large wives; another large father, M. Berkhin, about his experience; mother with many children and psychologist E. Bezdenezhnykh on the female view of large families; interview with D. Sivashenkova about what the Wedding gives us; the story of D. Ilyushina about the terrible conditions of the "upbringing" of children in boarding schools.

We wrote a lot about the problems of modern churchness, in particular, about the churching. L. Dunaev was asked to tell about the history of her churching, which she could not do, because she never had a real churching. The story of one woman who experienced an extremely grave disappointment in her spiritual path was extremely popular; Unfortunately, she asked to delete her story. The very discussion about the churching unfolded after the publication of the article, which was also extremely popular, – "Churchiness and Depression" by T. Zaitseva. A. Korolev believes that the main reason for the churching is the absence of a community of loving brothers and sisters.

The most popular material of all years is a selection of books about death; we have also noted several texts about death, the same topic will appear below. Two heartbreaking texts of B. Mirza about the death of your daughter obviously touched you: about the posthumous miracle and about the hope of meeting after death.

Texts criticizing certain features of the life and thinking of modern Orthodox Christians attracted attention: A. Zaitsev atypically looked at the problem of “critical days” of women in the Church; E. Popova also spoke about the specific problems of Orthodox women in connection with Prot. A. Tkachev; A. Zaitsev urges fans of humility and austerities to humble themselves and torture themselves as much as they like, but not to impose it on others, but rather help those in need; A. Korolev wrote that the big mistake of many Orthodox people lies in excessive attention to their afterlife; A. Perlik – that the falsity of parish relations should not overlap the tradition of the Spirit; priest S. Berezkin tells what means the priest lives on; D. Letnyakova – that there are no instructions for salvation, but Scripture and Tradition are not “instructions”.

The texts of prayers and services, their analysis, the problems of their translation into Russian are also a top topic: priest F. Ludogovsky sorted out Christmas prayers; You actively read the poetic translation of B. Kherson the Great Canon; the prayer of Patrick the Irish; short prayers and hymns-prayers, compiled by the abbot Siluan (Tumanov); Hegumen Siluan also offered an alternative to monastic prayer books; A. Korolev wrote that the modern prayer book is a bad help for prayer, and the Hourglass is good; T. Zaitseva wrote that the Russian language is an entrance to reality; D. Kosintseva – that the dispute about Church Slavonic is similar to the theater of the absurd.

You have actively read large texts on philosophy, theology, culture, history, etc.: historical and theological analysis of the problem of large families from Archpriest G. Mitrofanov; D. Moritz about whether Christ will save the Neanderthals; biblical analysis of the religious phenomenon of “purity” from V. Sorokin; why slow reading is interesting, explained A. Desnitsky and A. Stein; You read a historical text about Stalin's seminary youth; V. Shallar wrote that atheism, nihilism, feminism, as well as everything that happens with sexuality in the modern era, are the products of the historical influence of Christianity; Shallar also wrote about the series Young Papa, the theology of sexuality, why the Orthodox speak so much about female physicality (childbirth, menstruation, lactation, etc.), why theodicy is not a Christian reality.

We published texts of wonderful Christian psychologists: M. Filonik talked about her work with a client concerned about the problem of masturbation; V. Naumova wrote about the intrauterine death of a child from the point of view of a psychologist; she is about the loss of an adult child; P. Dmitrievsky explained the difference between passion and addiction; N. Skuratovskaya wrote about the psychology of spiritual crises.

Of course, responses to resonant events were popular: we spoke with A. Minyailo, the protesters arrested, about whether the Orthodox can go to rallies; he formulated 5 reasons why he would not comply with the decision of the ROC Synod on breaking the Eucharistic communion with Constantinople; A. Gelyasov explained what the powers of the Ecumenical Throne are in connection with the events around Ukrainian Orthodoxy; we published an anonymous letter about the crisis of the Church under Patriarch Kirill; V. Shallar wrote about the events surrounding the construction of the church in Yekaterinburg and in this regard, about how the Church itself inserts itself into an atheistic caricature.

Among the materials about the Holy Scriptures were popular: the text of A. Desnitsky about whether archeology confirms or refutes the Bible; I better understand the teaching materials “Our Father” prayers prepared by T. Zaitseva: “Hallowed be Your Name,” “Forgive us our debts,” “Deliver us from the evil one.”
