But what is a community? This is a modern “small group of parishioners around the beloved father, with evil eyes glaring around, they say, we’re all at home, come through, we don’t need others! someone else's father is an empty place, and ours – the light in the window and the right path lit up for us "- and is there a community? To this we must strive? Come on!

The community today, as a rule, is a get-together around a beloved guru with all the signs of “his” and “alien”. There are exceptions, of course. Confirming the rule.

And try to speculate in this vein on medicine: we rent a cafe to receive a doctor for an hour. The doctor, in order to survive himself and the family, works as a loader and heals in his spare time from real work. Not that? Not that.

Yes, kindergarten, school, hospital, shopping center with laundry – no doubt. But the temple. Not as a ritual place, where rarely go to note the changing number of relatives, but as a place of Sunday prayer.

The temple as an open book speaks of God, even when priests and laity are silent or live contrary to their words.

The temple is also a haven for restless souls who are too early to dive into the Sunday services, but already there is a need for a quiet prayer in a different space of life, free from the lead abominations of everyday life.

Yes it is expensive. Yes, people have very little money now. Yes, there is, where else to spend. For example, sick children should be treated.

But why due to the construction of temples, but not clubs, football arenas, paid garages, half-empty shopping centers? Do priests treat sick children? Why do you need to grumble about the construction of the next temple, and not to petition to the richest pharmaceutical companies and doctors, demanding free treatment for children?

You absolutely fairly answer that this is a manifestation of humanity. In a sense of the word, this is what we need more, not the sick and the dying. This makes us people, not just learn to talk and dress animals.

But animals do not build temples. This is the lot of man. And one of the manifestations of humanity.

This is a custom that was formed several centuries ago. Yes, for human life it is a lot. It seems that "it has always been like this." But compared with the 2000-year history of the Church itself, this is a temporary phenomenon.

Why is this? Because the nature of the people who make up the Church is damaged. And one of the manifestations of this – the desire to get as much as possible anything with a minimum of effort.

Hence, the utilitarian attitude to church sacraments and customs: “I do a simple, but filled with mystical sense action, and in return God gives me health, success, help in matters (not even always coinciding with the commandments),” and so on.


I confessed – you forgave sins and removed.
Communion – grace received. Children will not be sick, and in general, from the evil eye.
I was plunged into icy water at Baptism, my sins were forgiven and you don’t need to go to the temple.
And so on.

That is, everything is already done: the rite was performed, it was “consecrated,” and nothing more should be done. What are the commandments, love, the transfiguration of the soul? What for? "The sacrament will do everything for you."

And so the majority in everything.

You have the right to disagree and argue, but too many such examples in life. And the reverse – the unit. Where our true treasure, there we will sooner or later find ourselves. It is a pity that most often it is a trough …


If we take the Confession as a regular cleansing of the “dish of the soul of dirt”, then there remain a lot of questions, the answers to which are simply not there. The most important of which is: what kind of purification is it, if in the overwhelming majority of cases it does not automatically purify a person who regularly takes communion and confession?

What then is Confession?
First of all, this is the secret of God-communion, and not something utilitarian, not some kind of service or device for a comfortable spiritual life.

In my opinion, this is the mysterious release of his hands, bound by a vice, for the purification of his life. We must work hard. And this has yet to be done after confession and communion.

This is another attempt to trust the Lord and trust Him with the purification of our lives.

But this does not mean that we move away from the analogue "cleansed of sin." Otherwise, there would be no need to admit to being the worst of sinners before communion.


Here, they say, it is necessary to "imitate the saints." And how can this be done? How to imitate Mary of Egypt, Seraphim of Sarov, the righteous Job?

“To imitate Seraphim and Mary is to leave the world, to go into monasticism. Job – endure sorrows patiently. ”

But it is ridiculous and absurd. Only a handful of millions of Christians can “imitate” the saints. And is it worth mentioning that tens of thousands went to monasticism, and we glorify only a few of them.

It means, after all, that they did not glorify them for monasticism as such, and that this is not what they should be “imitated” for the most part.

Here's how to imitate Saint Helena? To be born a Gentile, to give birth to an emperor and to find the Cross of Christ in Jerusalem? But why? That is what was already done a half millennium ago.

We have developed a strange notion of imitating the saints as an external copying of their life path. But you have to strive to burn them with the love of God, which prompted them to choose this or that way of life. The details of life will inevitably be different, but the essence is the same.

And it is available to all, without exception – to monks, and laity, and empresses, and housewives.
